Well its been a while since I have updated my blog, mainly because these days I spend more time on Twitter, YouTube and using Video Streaming websites that allow me to interact with like-minded friends/followers/artists almost instantly. With so little spare time, when its time to indulge in arty creative play, I like to be able to interact with my artful friends around the world. Fortunately modern technology and the WorldWideWeb allow this to be possible!
However, sometimes there is a need to get some information out there, and the planned Worldwide New Years Eve Stream-a-thon is one of these times!
Our online crafting group is keen to get together on New Years Eve to help celebrate and, as we literally have members around the world, a plan was hatched for each country to bring in their own New Year by way of streaming. Due to times zones, this will mean a great Stream-a-thon as countries hand over to other countries and the stream relay baton is passed on.
A group of us have discussed the initial stages and each country (or timezone) has a team coordinator who will be arranging the stream team schedule for their associated timeslot
The co-ordinators for the relevant zones are as follows, each with their blog address:
· Jen (ozegran) - Australia - www.ozegran.blogspot.com
· Me - (ArtJourney) - Europe/UK - www.ArtJourneyUK.blogspot.com
· Jean (MusicScrp) - Canada - www.themusicalscrapper.blogspot.com
· Mitzi (Mitzi) - USA - www.emitzicurry.blogspot.com
Each of the above ladies will post details of the Stream-a-thon on their respective blogs and if you would like to stream during your country's slot please email your country's coordinator with your details (i.e. your blog address, what time you can stream, what you will be streaming, etc). You can leave a message below the post but it could get lost in the process, so would be best to email the co-ordinator directly. Each coordinator has their email address on their blog.
It would be helpful for each broadcaster (anyone streaming during the Stream-a-thon) to let their co-ordinator know what you will be doing during your stream. This will help us ensure we are not all doing the same thing - perhaps we can mix it up a bit. We are hoping the event will be a mix of art, room tours, quizzes, give-away, plat along projects etc! So whatever you fancy doing (and Sandy Jones... I don't mean Pole Dancing in a florescent pink thong!) just let your coordinator know... this is going to be a fun, no pressure night where we can all enjoy ourselves!
On to the timings!
Australia reaches the Midnight hour first and so will kick off the event on 31st December around 11:00pm (23:00) their time (12:00pm GMT, 07:30am EST)

STREAM TEAM |
Now just because Australia starts 2013 much earlier than most of you doesn't mean you or anyone can't stream in the lead-up! The main purpose of creating the schedule is to ensure we cover the relay from hour to hour and to also ensure that the Stream-a-thon is in the correct country as they reach midnight!
As the wee hours draw in, and the Australian streamers start to flag, Europe and the UK will take the baton and run....

This is an interesting timeslot as Europe, UK, Canada and USA will all be awake, so if we need to fill some timeslots we may call on our over-the-pond friends to help out... as long as the Stream-a-thon is in the country turning midnight when the time arrives... all will be good!
By 1:30am, as we Europeans to start fade, Canadian will be ready to take over...

AMERICAN STREAM TEAM |
Of course, the American gals (and guys!) can go on into the night for as long as they want! We know what those Night Owls can be like and with it being New Years Eve, there's even more reason to stay up late!
So... that's the crux of it! For anyone who is interested in joining us live, but doesn't want to broadcast, your comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We want to know what you would like to see!
Please also be mindful that this is a work in progress and that it is subject to change as we're only human. If you have any concerns about the timeslots please don't jump down my throat - just pop a comment down below and I'll try to explain or correct it. It is all supposed to be about getting together and sharing each others New Year collectively.
Very exciting stuffs! You have done a super job with your post Love.
